Many years ago I took English riding lessons on several graceful, long legged horses which happened to be American Saddlebreds. Ever since that time, I have wanted to sculpt them, but I waited for my talents to do justice to recreate these beauties. I did sculpt a bronze bust edition of a Supreme Sultan colt which instantly sold out back in the early Eighties. From that time on, I have wanted to sculpt another ASB stallion in a proud, standing position. Standing Ovation is the result and epitomizes the Valley View Supreme line of the ASB breed. This is the first sculpture that I have sculpted entirely from Fixit Sculpt over a styrofoam base. I have sculpted Ovation to represent the Valley View line, which is ultra refined, short backed, fine headed and long necked. With the expertise of Gail Aspinwall as technical advisor and a other ASB breeders, trainers, showers and owners, Ovation has turned into the ultimate Pleasure ASB stallion. He has been sculpted as a 1/9th scale Pleasure Stallion without the heavy pads and long toes. If scaled up to lifesize, he would stand 16hh at the withers. I did sculpt him with a show tail, but left the braids off purposefully, so they could be added if needed. Since Ovation is possibly the first refined, standing ASB stallion to be offered to the Model Horse hobby, people who want to show him should provide documentation to show the Valley View Supreme line.
