I sculpted Sayyed al Hawah in 2009 as a Traditional Scale Resin Limited Edition, with only 55 castings and 4 Artist’s Copies. We didn’t cast many because of the difficulty involved in producing the sculpture. This is the last remaining casting, and it happens to be my #1 Artist’s Copy.

As you can see, I need to finish attaching his head. I cut off his head to give him a new look. With his mane in the way and so much remodeling to be done, I found it easier to work on the head separately from the body. I did extensive work on him, and cutting off his head was necessary to create this new face.

He now features a more Egyptian-inspired head and a windswept mane, tail, and forelock. I still have some minor finishing touches to complete on his head, and I’ll detach it to finalize the details. Once the head is reattached, I’ll add the final piece of the blowing forelock, which had to be removed during the customization process.

Sayyed will be ready to ship in January 2025. He is a hollow-cast resin edition, a one-mold run. His head will be reattached after I finish the details, and the forelock will be resculpted once the head is permanently secured. The sculpture features stainless steel rods for leg reinforcement, with steel wire pinned forelock and tail. It also comes with an RFID tag and a color Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

The buyer will receive photos of the completed model before it ships. While I originally planned to keep him for myself and enjoy him, after 15 years, I still haven’t painted him. I’d much rather see this unique custom go to someone who can paint and enjoy him.
